Chorra Gallery 2014
My first introduction to creating installations was in 2014.
I was pushed out of my comfort zone and learned how to weld steel and welded metal armatures that ranged between 4-6 feet tall and used other materials I would have otherwise never been inclined to use.
Watching how people navigated this space influenced me greatly. This particular installation made me realize that the work has the power to dictate how people navigate art spaces. It gave me permission to make work that imposed on a viewers personal space, and introduced the idea that eventually led to the question- "How much work is someone willing to do to look at art?"
